Their Story

Meera Devi learned the art of blue pottery from her grandmother in the narrow lanes of Jaipur's old city. The craft, originally brought to India by Persian artisans, has been in her family for three generations. Every morning at 5 AM, she begins her work — kneading the quartz-based dough, shaping it on the wheel, and painting intricate floral patterns with cobalt blue pigment. "The clay speaks to you," she says. "You just need to listen." Her pieces have been exhibited in galleries across India and Europe, but she still works from the same small studio where her grandmother once taught her. Meera now trains twelve young women from her village, ensuring the craft survives another generation.
